In this video I’m going to share with you eight facts about learning English. Coming right up. Okay, let’s get started with eight facts about learning English. Fact number one, it takes time. It doesn’t take an eternity, but it definitely takes a medium-term commitment in order to be able to learn English successfully. While you can’t learn English in one day, or even in one week, certainly if you spend, let’s say, three to nine months and really dedicate a significant amount of time to learning English, then you’ll make real progress. That’s number one, learning English takes time.
Number two, you can learn English at any age. Fact. I’ve taught students of all ages, and I can guarantee you that you can learn English at any age. Anything else is just an excuse. Sure, people learn differently, and adults learn differently to children. I’m not denying that. But I guarantee you that if you are willing to dedicate the time and effort to learn English, then you can do it at any age. That’s number two. You can learn English at any age. Number three, it requires dedication. This is not something that is just going to happen. You really need to commit. You really need to dedicate your time, and dedicate your mind to learn English in order to be successful. But if you have that dedication, you will achieve this. It’s not something that is impossible. That’s number three. It requires dedication.
Fact number four, quite an interesting one for many people. Learning English will help you to make more money. A number of studies over the years have shown that those people who speak English in addition to their native language are likely to earn more money. In some cases as much as 30% more, and that 30% extends over the lifetime of a career We’re talking quite a lot of money. Number four, learning English will help you make more money. Number five, it will improve your mind. Likewise, studies have also shown that learning another language improves your mental agility, improves your cognitive function. I can’t promise that you will become more intelligent, but certainly, by learning another language you will open new pathways in your brain and become more mentally agile. That’s number five. It will improve your mind.
Number six, learning English will help you to achieve other goals. Why? Because you will have more access to everything. So much of the information out there is written in English, and therefore, if you can understand English, you will have access to that information. It will really help you in terms of personal growth and in terms of business growth. Whether you want to learn more about business, negotiating, or even juggling, learning English is going to help you take other areas of your life to the next level. Number seven, it will increase your cultural understanding. Why? Because culture and language are completely intertwined. It’s really difficult to learn culture without learning language, and it’s really difficult to learn language without learning culture. Learning English will really help you to take your cultural understanding to the next level.
Number eight, finally, I can guarantee you that you won’t regret it. This is a key fact about learning English. In all my time of teaching English, I haven’t yet come across one person who says that they regret learning English. If you want to feel better about yourself, increase your level, be more successful in business and in life, then why not learn English? Thanks for watching.
